This product chelates (chemically coat) metals and prevents a reaction between metals and sanitizers, such as chlorine or bromine, that causes discolored water and stained spa surfaces. Spa Metal Out will also prevent hard water (high calcium) from forming scale deposits in the heater or on spa surfaces.
